Quiet, unassuming but strong in his faith. Those are the kind of men you feel secure with. And the men who survived because of his sacrifice are a testimony to his leadership.

This MOH Monday touched me more than most and because of James Anderson, many of his fellow Marines would live. Thank you Tara.

I was a Navy Corpsman who joined the Navy at the same time that James Anderson joined the Marines. I was probably stationed at Marine Corps base, Camp Pendleton at the same time as this young man, as were many of the new Corpsmen I had trained alongside. His selfless deed possibly saved the life of a Corpsman or Marine I knew.

God bless the brave and selfless man, James Anderson, and so many others who gave their lives willingly, so that their fellow Americans could live in peace and freedom.

I always think about the short lives these brave men lived. What might he have accomplished in his life if it had taken a different direction? He exemplified the verse "No greater love than this, that a man would lay down his life for his brother." Because of his bravery and sacrifice, he made it possible for other men to continue to live. Let him never be forgotten.

He cared more for his fellow soldiers than he did for himself!

God blessed them with him!
