"In GOD we trust" inscribed on our currency is current law but it could be eliminated by an act of Congress. In fact, today's Congress would probably prefer to eliminate the slogan but for the public outrage.
I am actually surprised that the slogan remains on our currency as I believe we have become more agnostic as a nation than at nearly any point in our history.
I am glad the phase is on our money. I hope it remains forever.
