Watson was, in some ways, an unlikely military hero. He excelled in math and wanted to go to college, but his family could not afford the tuition. He persevered and graduated from college in 1942.
Would have loved to meet the parents that instilled those values of hard work and selfless deeds that developed a young man of such fortitude and honorable character.
