Galvez's acts were an important move forward for our fight with the British. Many thanks be to him for his efforts at that time. A later conflict was to come between America and Spain as I recall. Calvez 's were to our benefit at the. This is my understanding of the conflicts at that Time Tara. If not true please correct me.!

Our own revolution might surely have failed had not England been so bereft of other enemy combatants.

Loved reading about this part of Texas history. Galveston is one of our favorite places to spend time. We go there quite often. Now we know more about the history behind it. We have stayed in the Hotel Galvez. I did not know about the Spanish Governor Galvez. Amazing part he had in helping the Americans in the Revolutionary War.

Thank you Tara. I believe that the "foreign" fighters who assisted the Americans in their fight for independence were very instrumental in the final outcome. France and Spain provided expertise, equipment and manpower in some critical aspects of the war.

The help of Mr. Galvez and his troops was extremely helpful in the South. Britain had to have felt surrounded in America as well as at home.
