A hero isn't measured by success or failure, but by courage and effort.

Thanks for sharing a story I'd not known until today.

Another great piece of history that is never mentioned in history classes I have taken in my schooling from kindergarten through my Masters. I guess I should have taken classes taught by Tara Ross rather than business classes. 😃

Every battle was a part of the process to gain the goal of independence. But attaining the goal is never the end. Saving our Republic is a never ending process.

You don't always win when you are a hero, but you are still a hero nonetheless. RIP, gentlemen. Your bravery and actions are not forgotten.

Just because a battle is lost doesn’t mean the war is lost. The perseverance of the Americans eventually evolved into these great United States. Their love for freedom was a strong motivator. We need more people with a yearning for freedom such as we once enjoyed. Motivation that would move men and women to fight for it and instill it in their children. So thankful that such people ever lived, fought and died for the cause of freedom...and some still do.

A sad day then, but surely strengthened the resolve of other patriots.

Providence weighed in at every point. Every loss established an evolving resolve. A ragtag population toppled the greatest military might of the time. Thank God.

Thank you Tara. Such bravery and determination amidst trickery by the British. Although the battles that ensued to keep Fort Freeland in American hands didn't succeed, Americans didn't give up their fight for independence and freedom. We are all indebted to those who had the courage to seek and secure our freedom. May God continue to bless this great nation, and may we fight for our continued freedom and independence.
