I love this truth!

“To the degree that we are having trouble today, perhaps it’s because we spent 2020 & 2021 forgetting to respect the checks and balances in our Constitution.

After all, the careful balance of power in our Constitution protects liberty.”

What would Fisher Ames say today? I would hope that he would say exactly the same thing as he did 1788. However, I'm afraid that he would think that what he sees is not how the Constitution was intended to work. Too many changes and manipulations have allowed one party to achieve too much power. The compromise, States rights and individual rights have been subverted by power hungry politicians.

Thank you Tara for remembering the founding fathers intent of our Nation.

Your comments are so true. We as a country seem to have lost our way when it comes to the constitution. I think a big portion of that is a lack of understanding the constitution. We have also allowed our government to erode the freedoms spelled out in it for many years. A great example is FDR's interment of Japanese Americans during WWII.

Not respecting the Constitution is the crux of our chaos today. We are missing our opportunity to be a beacon of hope to the world of liberty and freedom to the world. Instead we are being blown about with every wave of wind of doctrine like a ship without a rudder.

It's the saddest thing I've ever seen.

It’s so important that we pass on the knowledge of how the foundation of our government is structured. There is an attempt to deconstruct that foundation that supports the individual freedom most people love 🇺🇸

I really wish this was a subject more people would understand. Thank goodness some Governors of our Union are cutting out CRT and going back to teaching correctly. As the new Virginia Governor said after being sworn in, 'our students need to be taught our history - good and bad.' This was a wonderful article today, Tara. I look forward to your articles everyday!

We, in America, live under a Constitutional Republic that protects our God-Given Constitutional Rights written into our Constitution from abuse by our fellow Citizens and our government!

Under a Democracy those Rights could be wholly taken away from us by a vote for f a majority of Citizens! Self-Defense, Freedom of Speech, our Right to pursue happiness and all other Rights written into our Constitution could be lost if we were to choose Democracy over the Constitutional Republic we live under today! A Democracy could certainly lead to a Volcano!
