Eugene Flucky and the crew of the Barb pulled off on ingenious but highly risky mission. The stealthiness of the Barb and the smart tactics of its crew gave the submarine a reasonable chance to succeed without being killed and they took the risk. No risk, no reward.

CDR Fluckey's exploits required a well disciplined and trained crew on the Barb, both of which were readily available for this assault. And they did it with tremendous success! Lusk seems to follow those who are the best prepared. Thanks for bringing us his amazing story, Tara Ross! He was a tremendous American submariner with very proficient skills and pluck!
