Real life even if it’s embellished on a bit still is an interesting piece of history. Obviously, Enoch Crosby was a spy and did many of the things he is credited for doing. This is new to me. Never heard about him before now.
I really appreciate these stories about "little known" characters of the Revolutionary War. It often seems distant and detached because we learned its outlines and its "larger than life" heroes in a way that seemed remote.
In my life before Ms. Tara Ross, esq., I was led to believe that the American Revolutionary War was one of citizen farmers vs British professional soldiers.
I didn't know about people such as Enoch Crosby who led a double life as a spy for the Colonists and, so many other men and women who were as sophisticated and professional as any British soldier. Our farmer soldiers have come alive and with color thanks to you Tara.

Great story…perhaps even some made up but what a time he led during the revolution. Glad he made it through and lister lived another. Didn’t know John Jay was with Washington’s spy. So interesting.

After all the sacrifices he made and the chances he took I'm glad to know that he had a full life after the war.
