Mrs. Didlake was not just a member of the Greatest Generation, she had to break through multiple barriers to serve. She was one of the “Greatest of the Greatest Generation” ! You have my respect and thanks.
AMEN. Rest in peace, Emma "Big Mamma" Did lake. You earned your recognition and your peace. The Greatest Generation is nearly gone. May God bless Ms. Didlake and all who serve or have served this great nation. Thank you Tara for remembering this woman.
Emma Didlake was an outstanding woman and patriot. It’s not surprising that a mother of five would display such courage. It’s no light task to raise children. She was willing to step up and serve her country. She was among many women doing the same thing. Since there was no argument perhaps her husband supported her decision. She lived a long and valiant life. It’s awesome that she got to visit Washington DC on the honor trip. That was a great reward for her service.

There's some dispute over the age of my grandmother too. She was almost 102 when she died!
Thank you, Tara.
An Honorable Lady!
