Another lesson I knew nothing about. The beginning of the Rangers of US Army fame maybe. A guess. Thank you Tara.

I am pretty sure that Roger’s Rangers actually predate this, but these sharpshooters were certainly a thorn in the side of the British.

This is another battle I’m not familiar with unless I’ve forgotten. Interesting that it may have been the first battle where the flag was flown. You always include lots of informative details. Great story, Tara.

I always enjoy stories where the enemies get killed, while the survivors run and hide! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

God bless the Stars and Stripes and may God continue to bless all who serve or have served this great nation. Thank you Tara.

I don't believe that I have known about the battle of Cooch's bridge, nor that this skirmish was the first appearance of our great flag.

Washington’s strategy and tactics during the American Revolution were remarkable. He never let the Continental Army get trapped as it had in Brooklyn. And he bought the British to a standstill with an inferior army. The Battle of Cooch’s Bridge was another of his tactics which proved to be worthwhile - while the Jägers used tactics similar to the the frontier huntsmen, they could not overwhelm those sharpshooters of General Maxwell’s light infantry. The British were stung by their action and distracted from their mission. Long may that flag which Maxwell’s corps fought under that day continue to wave!! The Flag of the United States of America!
