New historical information to me. It’s fascinating to learn more about the forming of this country. Amazing how it all came together to become one nation.
In our time of instant information, we sometimes forget things like how long it took for communication in colonial times. I was reading a post yesterday about the first presidential election. In it the author noted after the elector's votes were counted in the state capitals they were transmitted to the federal govt in NYC. In this case transmitted means someone hand wrote a dispatch gave to someone on a horse and said deliver it. BTW Tara that's a god story for you it has the electoral college which we know you are pretty passionate about.
I have to say that I haven't heard of this battle being a part of the Revolutionary War but, I guess it makes sense. The river system was extremely important and that there would be a struggle for its control makes sense. So, although this land wasn't part of the original Colonies, the connection between the Americans and the Spanish brought it into play. Interesting that it would be the last battle of the Revolutionary War. Thank you Tara.
Who would have "thunk" it? In Arkansas of all places! And Boone was busy in Kentucky but Western civilization was working was working it way up the mighty Mississippi and Spain was also fighting the English at this time. Great Britain had got itself into a real problem that would have been avoided if they had honored Americans as citizens and allowed their government to have local representation and the freedoms to which the Americans had grown accustomed as the British had.
Its been decades since I read the statement so I have no source by memory, the last battle was on the high seas between a French man of war and an American man of war. Thank you for your wonderful work and dedication.
Another part of America’s history I was never aware of. I am so blessed that I am a student of Tara Ross and her lessons. Thank you Tara.

The Spanish soldiers supporting American Independence came from Cohuila y Tejas!
