Chips and many other family dogs served during WW2. The family beloved pet was given to help the war effort and many didn't return.

Chip was a very remarkable animal, brave and intelligent. I for one think that awards of recognition should be given to animals for acts of bravery during military service. Thank you Tara.

Loved the story. We visited the National War Dog Cemetery on Guam when we lived there. They too gave their last full measure.
