Another great Medal of Honor story from a very modest and humble recipient. Yes those men and women really did deserve to be known as the Greatest Generation.

1st Lt. Charles Murray led and directed from the front, putting himself in danger to protect the men serving under him. Singlehandedly forcing a superior force to flee, I am amazed at his audacity and determination to complete task assigned to his unit, which he did.

To be wounded, and insist on returning his unit as soon as he could, speaks volumes of his dedication to those men, and to state that he didn't do anything special to merit the MOH, simply because "he was doing his job". He deserves to be be remembered.
