Great Story Tara, Monday MOH stories always amaze me and sometimes they’re a bit emotional.
Charles “Snake” Hosking was quite determined to serve. Hosking’ nickname certainly suited him, it’s astounding how these hero’s nicknames are originated.
This hero’s selfless sacrifice was courage on high, his commitment to serve was proven early.
Among Heroes, there are Super-Heroes: Combat Infantry Badge WITH STAR(1) WWII, with the 82nd, and then three (3!) tours in Vietnam, ending by saving his Team at the cost of his life. 1:1,000,000. Thank you, Tara Ross, for keeping his memory alive.
This is one of those stories that chills you to think that a man would risk and lose his own life to prevent others being killed. What an incredible sacrifice! May Sergeant Hosking rest in peace.
Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday. MSGT Charles (Snake) Hosking Jr. was a determined soldier, considering what he did to join the military. His eventual three tours in Vietnam prove his determination. Sgt. Hoskings final act undoubtedly saved lives, while he sacrificed himself, proving his loyalty and bravery. God bless you Sir and may God bless all who have served or currently serve this great nation.
I love the MOH stories that show the greatest commitment and love for our country, sad that so many gave their all for love of country and comrades. Thanks Tara!
Thank you, Tara, for this wonderful story about a man who persevered until he got to where he wanted to be. Such courage was duly noted and his story a welcome one for all of us.

Msgt Hoskins showed what bravery and determination looked like on a daily basis. The Medal simply defined that for him. RIP, good sir.
