I often wondered if in a clandestine operation such as this when Americans were confronted or challenged in conversation if their accents didn't create suspicion assuming they possessed a more American accent. Anyone?
I sincerely hope that Major Barton received a Medal for his actions to capture the Major General Prescott. I agree with General Washington that the successful mission to capture Prescott for the prisoner exchange of Major General Lee was "intrepid and enterprising".
The mission to capture General Prescott was daring and it was successful because of the degree of secrecy used.
What can I say beyond What George Washington said?
