I can't say that prejudice against blacks didn't exist while I served in the late 1960s, it did. But, I proudly served with men and women of all races and overt prejudice wasn't allowed. General Benjamin Davis opened many doors for an integrated military. I salute you Sir. Thank you Tara.

We are a nation with faults, as are all, reflecting the nature of man. What sets us apart is the capacity to evolve and adapt, as this man’s noteworthy achievements and his son’s clearly demonstrate. That is one of the major reasons why so many people worldwide wish to enter and live in America. We offer genuine hope and provide the freedom to be self reliant and successful, regardless of color, race or creed. We shall thrive as long as we have faith, adhere to civility and reject the slippery paths of hatred and fear. God bless America.
