There are some countries where the American military intervention is still respected and appreciated. Obviously Guam is one. The Marines did their job and secured the island. No doubt the people were very happy and grateful to see them. How interesting that some of the Japanese were able to hide some of them for years. That would have been a big surprise when they were discovered.

The various Pacific islands were hard fought during WW II and we knew each one had its own history. We dare not forget the price of freedom, celebrate it at every turn. I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free...
