Teddy Rosevelt went on safari in Africa.

Herbert Hoover was President at the beginning of the Great Depression and FDR was President mid term Depression.

Vietnam started under JFK as he sent in advisors, LBJ exploded the Vietnam War and Richard Nixon ended the war unceremoniously.

3) If you count who was president when The Atlantic Charter was signed in 1940 (FDR), who was president when Ho Chi Minh thought he was going to be the leader of Vietnam at the end of WWII, but the French got it (Truman), who was president (Eisenhower) after the French left (1954) and the US took over with the goal of free elections within two years. Then the three we remember, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon, which were during the combat years. Then, the last US citizens were evacuated under Ford.
