1) I'm going to guess "yes" because Olympics were in LA. US had them before (1904 in St. Louis, 1932 Los Angeles, 1980 Lake Placid, and subsequently Atlanta 1996 and 2002 in Salt Lake City) but I don't think the pres opened

2. TR was POTUS in 1904, but when did we win the bid?

3. Eisenhower. He became a coach an cheerleader after getting hurt tackling Thorpe. He also focused on his military career as a result.
