ANSWER: John Adams.
(2) QUESTION: Which President previously served as Tennessee’s first representative in the House?
ANSWER: Andrew Jackson.
(3) QUESTION: Which President(s) was an orphan?
ANSWER: Herbert Hoover & Andrew Jackson. Hoover's father died of a heart attack, then his mother died of typhoid. He became an orphan when he was just 9 years old. As for Jackson, his father died before he was born, and his mother died of cholera when he was 14.

Adams served under the system where the VP was the loosing opponent candidate for president. That pretty much guaranteed that, at the president's pleasure, there would be less than nothing that the president would want the VP to do. As for Andrew Jackson, I think his mom was still alive when he was taken prisoner by the British at Waxhaws.. no? He moved away from the region after is mother and brother passed away for parts west. I hadn't realized he was still THAT YOUNG when he lost his mom!
