It's true that once a Marine, always a Marine. The Marine Corps birthday is approaching and this country would not have stood if not for our brave men and women who signed the check that they will defend our nation up to and including giving their very life to keep our nation safe from enemies foreign and domestic. God bless them all.

"Their commander had told them that the battle would be “decisive” and one “in which the rise or fall of the Japanese Empire will be decided.” and he turned out to be right.

Thank you Tara. It is nearly impossible for me to imagine how awful, how intense, how relentless this battle was. Men against men in close quarter combat for literally hours upon hours. The training of the Marines and the leadership of men like Col. Puller kept the line intact that night at Henderson field.

I am very thankful for the tenacity of the men in Company C, "Suicide Charley" and all of the other Marines on Guadalcanal whoʻ won the battle and eventually the war.

The Greatest Generation deserves immence credit for their love of this great nation and their willingness to put it all on the line during that brutal war. May we possess the capacity to come together and do it all again, should our survival call for it.

Thank you again Tara.

Those battles in the Pacific arena were the most vicious battles, those who fought were the bravest of the brave. The Japanese fought to the death unlike he Germans. Cannot image hat they went through! The greatest generation ever. Thanks Tara!

November 10,2025 the USMC Devil Dogs will be celebrating their 250th Birthday. Their Motto Semper Fidelis in English means Always Faithful. Over the years the Marines have lived their Motto. The Marines are usually the first in to any fight. A little known fact to most people is that the largest number of marines in service has been 300,000 versus the multimillion in the Army, Navy and Air Force each. The advertisers coined the phrase “The few, the proud, the Marines” could never have been more true. Hoo Raa!

I worked on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton for 40 years, (as a civilian).

In those years, I watched so many young Marines putting their lives on the line, everyday, to make sure that the history and honor of the 'Corps' was preserved for the next generation of Marsiines coming thru the gates. The faces were getting younger, but nevertheless, just as positive about their quest, to "Be the Best" that was humanly possible.

I live within sight of the Marine Base, and I still feel proud to have worked along side of the warriors. I waive as the combat helicoptors and planes fly over my house after a long day of training in the desert to the East of us. Semper Fi, Warriors.
