Amazing story Tara. Thank you.

Imagine the amount of planning and trusting Washington and Rochambeau relied upon. Believing that the French Navy would arrive and be on time.

It's easy to forget that there was no modern communication and planning the strategy required for an engagement like this was almost a miracle. No wonder that George Washington was so elated. Maybe another instance of Devine Providence? I choose to believe that God was guiding and protecting Washington throughout his life.

I regret that I was never taught of the significance of Rochambeau's actions nor the "deceitful retreat" of colonial forces from the New York area, instead concentrating on the actions of Washington and Lafayette. Thank you, Tara, for yet another illuminating look at our nation's past.
