Thank you Tara. I am not surprised but I haven't heard of this before. The Greatest Generation didn't know quit. Our nation pulled together as one. Thank God for the Greatest Generation.
I don't want to spoil this but, would we be able to do that again if our continued freedom depended on it?
This was a totally new story to me! The ruse of Americans filming a Western in Sherwood Forest (maybe with John Wayne!) was hilarious. But all to help the war effort!
Wow! Great story, little known, and a key to the Allied success in WWII. Thank you, Tara Ross, for keeping the story of the Roughnecks of Sherwood Forest alive.
Thanks again Tara for teaching us the hidden stories of unknown people who helped us win WW2! Yes, the greatest generation never ceases to amaze us of what they did to win the war!!
Amazing how quick you can drill and produce oil when your hands are untied. Oil and its by-products are so important to the success and prosperity of a nation. Thank you, Roughnecks of Sherwood Forest!
Now this is a new story about patriotic Americans willing to do anything to help win the war and helping the Brits in the process. Our countrymen back then were certainly ingenious in how they got things done. Thank you for bringing this to light, Tara.
What a story Tara , I never knew about the “ roughnecks of Sherwood Forest “ this tale of American ingenuity and persistence by one man who made it happen is wonderful and finally brought to our attention . It shows the commitment every American had to the “ war effort “ from December 8,1941 to the end of WW 2 . No all heroes weee on the battlefield as this story relays thank you for sharing it .
What a wonderful story about an all but unknown bit of WWII history!

Another bit of history I did not know. Thank you, Tara! American ingenuity bails out Britain yet again. Those rascally colonists!

This might be the most interesting story of the war!
Great story, as usual, Tara! Of course, I could only think of Robin and his merry men finding riches in Sherwood Forest to give to the good guys!
