“I don’t even remember the action. . . . We got ambushed, and the next thing I knew … it was 5 o’clock that afternoon, and I was in a 500-pound bomb crater."
Robert Patterson didn't remember the acts he performed while earning his MOH but he immediately cleaned up his act to keep from any dishonor to the Medal. MOH recipients are a very special few whose brave actions were recognized as worthy of the Medal. Mr. Patterson, in respect of the others who have received the Medal and as an example to all leads an exemplary life. Thank you Tara for another MOH Monday. Thank you to all who serve or have served and may God continue to bless this great nation.
Another humble hero! It’s admirable that part of the motivation is knowing others are depending on you as you are depending on them. Also the sentiment that every Medal of Honor recipient wears it for everyone who was there and especially for those who didn’t make it home safely. Amazing comment that it’s much harder to wear the ribbon than to earn it.
This American hero could not recall his efforts which ultimately led to his Medal of Honor, most intriguing.
As humble a man to admit it is harder to wear the Medal than it was to earn the Medal. There is a tremendous amount of Honor Courage and Commitment in their ranks.
Men like him and others in all our wars is a reason to respect of Flag, and stand for our pledge. To many today disrespect our country, flag and veterans! They have no idea the cost of our freedom, all our veterans gave and some gave all.
It seems like so many of those heroes from the past few wars have been country boys, farm boys. With farms being bought up by our globalist masters, the Masters of the universe, some day there will be no more brave, patriotic farm boys to pull our bacon out of the fire.
What a comment! "It is much harder to wear that ribbon than to earn it." Even though he doesn't remember much of what he did, it took guts to do it and since he was awarded the medal I know he earned it. He is very modest about it as are most , if not all, of the others who have gotten it over the years. May God bless them all.

These actions are always different, but the motivation and results are always the same. I'd like to think I'd black out in the middle of it too!
Great story Tara,

Thank you Robert Patterson. You did what was required to save your fellow soldiers. This is where you were that afternoon.

With great power comes great responsibility ! (and with such responsibility comes great honor)
