0h Wow. Tears are in my eyes. Michael Stewart died doing exactly what he wanted to do. It's such a shame, but my I am teary-eyed not just for his debut for LCpl Stewart's lifelong dream to follow in his dad's footsteps. He did it greatly! Semper Fi Marine.

I had just finished Hospital Corps school in San Diego and was at the Naval Hospital on Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base when this action took Mr. Stewart's life. I haven't heard this story before but I was with many Marines who had returned from Vietnam wounded and I heard many of their stories. At that time, I volunteered for AVT school in Pensacola for advanced medical training and survival training as a Med Evac Corpsman. Another story for another day. Thank you Tara for another story of our heroes. May God bless Mike Stewart and all who gave their lives in Vietnam. And may God continue to bless all who have served and who now serve, this great nation.
