Thank you Tara, Mary Draper was a large cog in the wheel of the war machine of the time and, you are correct Tara. "Every person, every effort, always makes a difference-especially when you are fighting for liberty."
This is the heart of the American spirit! Mary was "only" a part of all those who did what they could. This has been seen in every hard time we have experienced, even looking at WWII when Rosie the Riveter could be seen everywhere. We do our part, however small to make a better future for our nation.
Mary helped provide two of the three essentials for every army: beans and bullets (and she probably helped with the third - bandages!) May her tribe increase! As you noted, "Every person, every effort, always makes a difference—especially when you are fighting for liberty!" Thank you for keeping her memory alive, Tara Ross!
Great story of another woman, who served in the ways she could to help us gain our freedom. That you Tara for these stories of great women in our history!!!
An army travels on its stomach! Mary was a hero; she had the courage to overcome numerous obstacles to achieve several goals. I wished we knew more about her.
Happy Fantabulous Friday Tara Ross! You know I got 8 grandkids, 1-16 yrs old so I save and I read them your most excellent stories! Have a fantastic weekend!🌹💯🇱🇷🏴☠️❤️
Excellent story that adds so much to the beginnings of our country. One brave soul saw the need and moved to fulfill it. Thank you for sharing this monumental story. Such courage is worthy of note!
“Every person every effort, always makes a difference-especially when you are fighting for liberty.” Excellent quote, Tara. Mary Draper and many others like her set a good precedent for others to follow. She taught her son and daughter well too.
Wonderful example to all of us, to do what we can do. Thanks for sharing. 😊

Love this story! This shows the bravery of a “regular” individual, when it is required. We need to remember this lesson!

I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you for passing our history down to the next generation. ❤️❤️
🇺🇲 Mary Draper, the quintessential American patriot...doing what she could do, to be of service to others.
That attitude courses through us still, no matter the time, the need, or the consequences.
Thanks for these great reminders, TR. 🇺🇸

I wonder if her son made it through the war?
I didn't look into it myself, but someone on my FB comment string did. Apparently one did, but one died in captivity.
Thanks
Just go in the strength you have, using your given talents for the cause. Thank you Mary Draper for your commitment to the cause. 😊
The simple things are often the ones most needed.
