Both Jefferson and Adams were tremendous intellectuals who served their country and the cause of freedom so very well. I am very glad they died as friends because they were teammates serving their country same cause and made incredible contributions to the cause and to our common land. May they rest in peace and may their ideals never die.

The contributions to this country of both these men is beyond measure. I pray their ideals remain central to our grand experiment as we move forward as a country. We must never forget who we are as a nation and thwart any attempts to reconfigure, to redefine, to dispell our central principles that these men brought into prominence by their great work and sacrifice.

I hope this leads me to reach out to friends who think differently than I and reconnect. I feel we should remember we are friends first and children of God. Thank you Tara for this wonderful history lesson. 🙏❤️💪🇺🇲

Timely history lesson of two great men, Adams and Jefferson, who deeply disagreed but genuinely had the best interest of the country at heart. With the help of a good woman and some humility they were able to reconnect. The big lesson is that it takes two to mend fences and they must have the same goal in mind in order to work through their difference. They also need to respect each other. It is only under those conditions that it can end in unity and friendship. Excellent post, Tara.

I love the eloquent language of the people who founded our nation. They certainly knew our language and how to express their thoughts.

Abigail Adams was a large part of everything that John Adams was and everything he accomplished. The friendship of Adams and Jefferson was marred by political differences. Nothing new about that. Thank you Tara for another history lesson.

So...... disagreements within the "American experiment" have been going on for quite a while. And yet we survive.

Finally friendship over Politics! Thank you Tara for another great TDIH. Something we all should try to accomplish. 😊

Of all obstructions that are are the most difficult to overcome in man’s relationship to one and other is pride. Humility is the remedy.

The prayers for freedom and justice for Americans, shall always begin with a humble leadership, where personal pride is locked away, and the personal sacrifice(s) are secretly hidden away in history books, for the next generations of Americans to ponder.

I would have enjoyed being a close confidant to both of these leaders of freedom!🇺🇸

Thank you, Tara, for this meaningful story concerning the thoughts of two of the Great men who, together, worked to found our GREAT Nation! They didn’t always work together but they helped our nation come together for the people of our nation!
