What an interesting piece of history. It is admirable when a person sees the other side of a situation and it’s apparent that it’s right they’re willing to change their position. George Ross had the ability to do this and stand firm once he accepted what he learned was true. Our country benefited greatly from men and women like Ross. We need more people with his character. Thanks for another awesome post, Tara!

Seems it was most important to George Ross to make his mark on the Declaration as not only a show of his support for America but also as a mark of his integrity and commitment as he relinquished a life of ease for the patriot cause.

George Ross, a one time Crown prosecutor that experienced a change of mind, and heart. Then signed the Declaration of Independence, when he didn't have to. That signing was a clear and bold public indication of his change of purpose, to any that may have had doubts of his new views. It was daring, to be sure.

Thank you Tara. George Ross was a true American. When push came to shove, he placed his loyalty in the American camp. By signing the Declaration of Independence he publicly announced his allegiance. A Patriot through and through.

We must all recognize how brave these men were to sign such a document that was viewed as treasonous by the British government and that meant the hangman’s noose or a firing squad at best if one were to lose this fight .. what amazing Patriots they were that deserve our admiration today! And then to proceed to create our unparalleled Constitution that every elected official to this day is required to uphold .. and sadly many do not even try to! Article V of that wonderful document provides us all with the legal means to propose and ratify amendments .. Today’s Congress will never carry out needed reforms such as term limits for themselves or even trying to reduce the ballooning national debt .. so We The People must take action and do so within the parameters established by our Constitution/ accordingly, I recommend everyone research and consider supporting conventionofstates.com .. offering a powerful nonviolent and constitutionally endorsed

platform to return power to the individual States
