A Marine… and a kitten. American Marine and a kitten. The humanity of the American military members comes across and the freedom we are raised in allows us to be that way. Be sure that Marines are trained killers, but they still have an ability to think and will. Just don’t tell them! LOL!
Marines are human. Sgt Frank Praytor proved that fact in 1953 while helping a helpless kitten. Thank God for men like Frank Praytor and may God bless all who have served or currently serve this great nation.
Proof that Marines have a heart. Are they fighting machines? Yes but remember they do it for love of Country and family. Hoo Raa to all the Marines out there and Semper Fi.
Thank you for such a heart-warming story. Yes, Marines are tough, but there is always a mighty heart behind that toughness. I know as I am a Marine Corps brat in the midst of many family members who are such Marines.
The picture reminds me of Jessica Buchanan’s story of her rescue by SEAL Team 6 after she endured 93 days as a hostage by bandits in the Somali desert.
The SEALs parachuted during a new moon from 20,000’, landed in gusting winds with their 150# of gear, stealthily made their way to the encampment where Jessica was being held, neutralized all the pirates, and found her and her Norwegian colleague. One of the SEALS gently threw her over his shoulder and ran toward the helicopter landing zone. The SEAL then ran back twice for her belongings and when they thought they heard a noise, they immediately sheltered her with their bodies.
When the helicopters arrived, they flew to the American military base at Djibouti. During the trip, Jessica desperately needed to, um, go potty, and when the helicopters landed, the SEALs grabbed a couple of blankets to form a privacy curtain there on the tarmac. After 93 days of captivity with no privacy, all her dignity taken from her, she cried at the decency of the kind, gentle, but deadly warriors who had just rescued her.
Tara, I just watched a movie titled The Last Full Measure about William H. Pitsenbarger and the struggle to secure MOH for his actions in Vietnam. Perhaps you can watch the movie and let your followers know what you think. I loved it. Greg

What an awesome moment forever caught in that picture. I love it.
