TDIH: Happy New Year's Eve!
“We are Americans! We move into the future with the strength and confidence of 200 years of a proud heritage."
On this day in 1975, Gerald Ford offers some thoughts on New Year’s Eve.
“We are Americans!” he told the nation. “We move into the future with the strength and confidence of 200 years of a proud heritage. Liberty is the most precious possession of our past and it is still our greatest promise for the future. The freedoms we have today must be preserved and extended.
“I ask you to join me in a 1976 New Year's resolution to cherish and protect what we have achieved in America—and, with God's help, to build upon it in the years ahead.”
His words still ring true today, don’t they? 2025 should be interesting. Happy New Year’s! History stories resume tomorrow morning.
Wise words that every generation should take to heart and value. Freedom is so fragile and has many enemies. Today we are facing many challenges to our Constitutional Republic. Let’s hope with the help of Divine Providence, strong patriotic leaders and a determined majority of the American people we can preserve and protect our precious liberty. Happy New Year, Tara, and to all your followers. 2025 promises to be a good start for the restoration of our great nation.
American History is important and should be mandatory in each year of school from 6th through 12th. Like English, we must learn it to make this country the best it can be always.
Thanks to all of you. I enjoy your comments and am grateful to you for them. Happy New Year Tara and everyone.
