There is NOTHING CIVIL about a civil war. Brother against Uncle and Cousin against Cousin. Brutal. President Lincoln probably had little choice in order to keep a semblance of the Union, as a precedent such as a succession of states leaves little future for a United States. The issues surrounding this war were very strongly felt and it appears inevitable. However, although the Union eventually was piece together again, continued hard feelings exist even today.

Thank you Tara.
