That was a much needed victory, as has been mentioned before. After I considered the after battle logistics, I am left with questions. How did the American army deal with their captives, I mean they barely had enough supplies as it was, going into battle letvalonecdealing with 900 captives. But they would have had access to the supplies of the Hessian troops to claim, so they could have taken all of those supplies that they could transport back across the river to use. So their was a gain. What they couldn't take would probably be destroyed to prevent their use by the British/Hessian forces...

All in all, it was a or should have been a magnificent morale boost for the American forces.

Thank you, Tara Ross for the lesson.

So many lessons to learn from our history. Out of many losses and disappointments came an unexpected victory. Perhaps November 5th 2024 is one in our day? Another lesson is never underestimate the American determination, fortitude and courage. A belief in Divine Providence was a major part of their character. They also loved their country. They kept pushing forward motivated by a strong leader. Washington led the way, but he didn’t do it alone. There was hope again after a hard long journey. Thanks, Tara!
