It scared me to the bone. I remember Apollo 1 and now 13. Lucky for them, prayers worked as did the knowledge collective at NASA. A amazing team effort. Thanks Tara for this lesson and memories. 🙏❤️💪🇺🇲

Memories galore Tara. We were glued to the television and radio information about Appolo 13. It was a time of anxiety for everyone as the flight progressed. Unlike space flights of today, the Moon flights were among the most important events of the time, even more time and attention was devoted to the space flights than to the Vietnam War.

I was in my final 6 months of my Navy enlistment and we were as a nation, at least in my mind, very much focused on the space race with the USSR. A huge collective sigh of relief was had when the Appolo 13 capsule splashed down. Thank you Tara.
