(1) QUESTION: True or False? We have had more Presbyterian Presidents than any other religious denomination.

ANSWER: False. According to the Pew Research Center, more Presidents (eleven) have been Episcopalian than any other denomination. The next closest is Presbyterians, with eight Presidents.

(2) QUESTION: True or False?  John F. Kennedy was our only Catholic President.

ANSWER: False. Joe Biden is also Catholic.

(3) QUESTION: Which President advocated for military chaplains, writing that “[A Chaplain] ought to be provided; that we may at least have the show, if we are said to want the substance of Godliness!”

ANSWER: George Washington. He wrote those words while advocating for chaplains in Virginia before the American Revolution, but he later also advocated for chaplains in the Continental Army. Washington had a lot to say when it comes to church-state relations.
